Doctor's Appointment

Shane took Abbey to the doctor this morning for her 2 month check up and vaccines. She weighs 9 lbs 6 oz and the doctor was happy with that- so are we because she is finally fitting into her 0-3 month clothes!! She has a little bit of cradle cap on her head, between her eyebrows. He also told us to not give cereal, oatmeal or rice to her until she was at least 6 months old- so to anyone who has told me otherwise I think I will trust the doctor on this one! Shane said she cried of couse when they gave her the shots but settled down once he held her, I am glad that Shane had to go I don't think I would have done very well. However Shane is a nervous wreck about the side effects that vaccines could have on her, I will be calling the sitter to check on her in about an hour. Say some prayers for us that all goes well for her! Shane said by the time they left she was smiling and playing so that is nice to hear! The doctor said she should be getting her tears in any day now- let the water works begin!!

Proud Wife

Just wanted to let everyone know how proud I am of my husband- that and how lucky I am to be married to him. Yesterday at church the preacher called all men forward to pray to be better men- in life, in marriage, in their jobs, in fatherhood, in faith, in everything basically and Shane was one of the first men on his feet walking down the aisle to pray with well over 100 men. It made me proud to see how willing and ready Shane was to pray about these things in front of a room full of people. I thank God everyday that I met Shane (and his family) and now for Abbey. I am also very thankful that Shane and I share our faith and put that first, I know marriages can be very difficult when that is not shared. I can only hope that we contiune to be blessed with happiness and love. Well we are actually in control of our own happiness so I hope that we continue to find happiness everyday of our lives, which now with Abbey that is very easy! Anyways I just wanted brag a little about my husband and let him and everyone know just how proud and honored I am to be his wife....of all the people in the world he chose me to be his wife and he treats me like a queen (Abbey too) I could not be happier. Thanks Shane for all you do, you are truly amazing.

Today we had the October birthday celebration with the Zimmerman's- TJ, Timmy, Nick, and Vern. It was lots of fun! Abbey got to wear some of her 0-3 month clothes that actually fit! She was in newborn and can still wear most of her newborn clothes but some of the 0-3 month stuff is fitting.

I made a HUGE mistake today, I left the house without putting Zeke's e-collar on...I was just not thinking and totally forgot! Normally Shane takes care of Zeke before we leave but Shane left the house before I did and I was not a good mom to Zeke because I forgot to put the collar on. He ripped a hole in his back by his stitches so tomorrow he has to go to the vet and get re-stitched, that should be pretty cheap....yah right! So Shane tried to wrap an ace bandage around his back side but it was around his "man parts" so he was walking funny and it kept falling off-SO Shane came up with putting boxers on him. He then cut a hole in the boxers for his tail and we had to clip the top of them with a twixit clip so they would stay up. We went out for about 4 hours and came back and he still had his boxers on so it must have worked. I hope that it is not infected or anything to terrible tomorrow. Stay tuned for how it turns out.

Abbey's first overnight trip!

Well sad news brought us to North Vernon this weekend, my grandpa on my Dad's side (Les's dad) passed away and we were in town for the viewing and funeral. This was Abbey's first over night trip and I was a little worried because she has been sleeping so well at home I was afraid this would throw her off but she did great! She went down at 10ish and woke up at 4, she was just fussing in her sleep and I woke her up completly so I could feed her then she went back down until about 7 45! She did not wake her Grandpa Bryan or Grandma Ginger at all!! It was nice to see all of the Hook's, I rarely get the chance to sit down and talk with cousins and aunts and uncles and this weekend was great- I think I talked to just about everyone and met everyone's new spouses- which there were quite a few I had not formally met! What a huge family we have! We had a great time introducing Abbey to everyone, she was quite the hit! I also did not know we had so many blog readers that makes me really happy! There is a link on the blog that you can sign up for email notification- the blog posts will go right to your inbox just like a message, even the pics so feel free to sign up! Please leave us comments! Also if anyone who has a digital pic of the group shots that were taken please email them to me ( I am a HUGE scrapbooker and would love some of those pics!

Back to work!

Well this week I went back to work and Abbey has been at the sitter. She has been amazing all week, she is so happy at home and very smiley! I am happy to be back at work and it is going very well, I am very very busy so time flies and before I know it it is time to go get my little baby girl! I am getting a lot of help from my amazing husband during the week now, he will get up and change her diaper and bring her to me to feed and then he will burp her and put her back to bed every other night. I have no new pics but I will post some this weekend so stay tuned!

Bath Time and Doggy Surgery

Here are some pics from the first actual bath, she was not happy. I don't think we had the water warm enough, we did the elbow test and it did not feel warm or cold but I think she thought it was cold because when I poured warmer water from the faucet on her she seemed to like it. We do not have one of those little water temp testers, any suggestions on how to get the temp right?! Maybe I should just go buy one! Zeke had laser surgery yesterday to remove a growth he had on his back side, it looked like a mole but the vet of course wanted to remove it, so we said ok and we are waiting the results of the biopsy so keep him in your thoughts, poor doggy. He has to wear the E-Collar for 19 days, he will be miserable.

What a great weekend!

So yesterday we went to the driving range and I hit some golf balls...SO fun. I can't wait to go actually play, we are going to go to a small course so I do not get too frustrated, but it sure was fun! Then we went to the Colts game and it was awesome, mainly because we were in a suite! Here are a few pics from the weekend.
