Just a few Christmas Pictures

Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy the pics!

She was very particular about the unwrapping process...

Lots of books this year, her favorite thing!

This pic is out of order but this is what she thought of Santa this year!

Cooking with her new kitchen!

Books galore!

Abbey's trying to open Daddy's beer! :)

Listening to Grandma Maureen read Twas the Night Before Christmas!

Very blurry but she was not excited to see Santa at all!

This was as close as we could get to a good picture with Santa, Abbey sitting on Aunt Beth's knee looking at the strange bearded man!

Reading in her pretty pretty dress

I tried to get her to pose, this was as good as I got!

Another pretty Christmas dress- note the chair in the back that has been through 4 Gootee generations! :)

There is a first time for everything, Abbey has never fallen asleep in her high chair, but Mommy and Daddy were making cookies and well we were ignoring her after she ate her lunch so she just took a snooze.
She only left the ribbon in her hair for a few, but it was cute!
More pics to come later this weekend I am sure! :)

New Jacket

On Thursday Grandpa Bryan and Grandma Ginger came for a visit and of course they had gifts! This is one of the 3 outfits she got...it has a matching dress that is white velvet on top and the skirt matches the jacket! I love the jacket with the fur and how long it is I can't wait to dress her up for church! She also loved the jacket and kept it on! She also got her hair cut and looks much much better, still has the baby mullet but we are hoping that since she got a trim it will grow quicker! :)

Bath time fun and updates!

Well after a few days of Abbey being sick- temp, runny nose, sleeping ALOT even for her, and some coughing we went to the doctor and she has the start of an ear infection so we have her on amoxicillen (SP??) she no longer has a fever! She is now on nasonex for allergies so we are hoping that does better than the claratin if not we have Zyrtec still to try! She is so funny lately- saying all kinds of new stuff everyday. She can say Elmo now and point him out in her books so that would be good Christmas gift ideas for her- Elmo videos or dolls! She also has a book that she will bring to you so she can point out the dogs, cats, shoes, socks, and hats that the characters are wearing! Its pretty darn cute. She was so sick on Monday night that she fell asleep ON Shane- that has not happened since she was a little tiny baby. She also fell asleep on me on Tuesday morning and was very clingy to me which she never is- she is very independant and plays on her own and rarely will just sit still in my lap and hang out- well on Tuesday that is all she wanted to do- so we did! Last night she perked up again after her fever broke- oh she is also battling molars and other teeth her little gums are white and very bumpy so we got some Hyland's teething tabs and she is loving her mesh feeder thing with an ice cube in it.

I go to the doctor today for my long appointment- the glucose test. Good thing I have book 4 of the Twilight series to finish! I was feeling sick the last two days- all head stuff, and achy back/neck so hopefully that passes soon. I know some of you know that I lost my job on December 1st and have been sending out resumes/cover letters like mad this last week and a half and finally have an interview on Monday so say lots of prayers and wish me lots of luck!! Also if anyone knows of anything let me know and I will get my resume and cover letter together for it!

The last part of this post is a video of Abs in the tub while her Daddy makes her laugh hysterically- you have to make sure you have the sound up on your computer to really enjoy the video! Well worth it! This was last night so you can clearly see she is feeling much better! Enjoy! Oh and the pic of our Christmas tree that Shane hates because it is not done up in colored lights- blah I like white lights! I won!!!

Like Mother like Daughter

Well after a long holiday weekend we are back at home- and let me tell you Abbey is just like her Mommy- a homebody! She is a totally different girl once we set foot through our door she is just as happy as can be- she was very good with all of our travels but this week was just a little crazy for us- eating and napping schedules were all off and on Friday she got her Chicken Pox/MMR and Flu booster. We also found out at the doctor that she is getting her molars in, well some of them and that could explain her eating hiatus this week. She puked all over her crib on Thanksgiving night- Shane and I felt really bad because when we went to bed (about 3 hours after we laid her down) we noticed that Abbey was sitting up at one end of her crib and was falling asleep but just letting her head hang down and almost falling over but she would push herself up each time she fell over- well after about 10 minutes of laughing and thinking that she would finally realize that she needed to lay down Shane went in and called for me to come in too- I walked through her door and knew what had happened puke smell hit me like a ton of bricks- so at about midnight she was getting a bath and laid in bed with us for about an hour so we could watch her and know she was ok- she would not sleep in our bed because she never has so she thought it was like Saturday mornings when we all just lay in bed and watch cartoons! She turned out to be fine, we assume, and went back to bed. This is just another reason I am a fan of the video monitors- we would have never known that she was sitting up because she was not crying at all- poor thing just wanted to go to sleep but not in her own puke- can't blame her there- one other reason is for napping- Abbey is a funny kid who likes her "alone time" just like her Mommy and sometimes she will be in her crib for 45 min to an hour without napping just quietly playing then she will take her nap so that would normally have been a 2 hour nap that would have been cut in half if I could not have seen her playing- then I will just let her sleep for her whole 2 hours- I don't know what I will do when we have to quit using the video monitor when we have the new baby! I think that if we try to use 2 they will interfere with each others signals- will have to research that!

Abbey also is now on nose spray instead of Claritin so we will see how that works then try Zyrtec if that does not work we have to wait it out until she is old enough for the skin testing for allergies. Abbey is saying lots of stuff- dog, duck, nose, mouth, eyes, hi, hello, milk, tooth, kitty, shoe and sock. She is also blowing lots of kisses and saying "muuuah". She did get to watch the Fox and the Hound on the way to NV and back on Saturday and Sunday. It really is too bad that Abbey did not want to eat this weekend we had such good food everywhere! We are also cutting back her milk intake we were giving her 4 full sippy cups a day of milk when she should only be getting 2-3 so we have now cut it down to 3 and adding some other forms of calcium in to her diet regularly- we also have to watch cheese, banana, and other "constipating" food intake because she is not so "regular" its very hit or miss with her.

I am so glad to have Shane back after a long week of him in Florida- kudos to all of the single parents out there I could not imagine Abbey really is a very good girl but being a one man show sure is hard! Well after a long weekend of traveling we are all at home and resting- not wanting to start another work week! Mondays are not fun!

Pregnancy update- I am going into my 24th week. I am feeling pretty darn good- except for headaches but the doc gave me some meds that are sweeeeeet so that is getting better. I am starting to feel movement- Shane can't feel it yet but I can so I am sure in a few weeks he will get to feel the kicks and jabs. I have thrown two names out for Shane to think about Kate (not Katie- no offense to any Katies I just love the name Kate!!) and Sarah- middle names to be determined- Shane has not given me any names to think about so we will see. I go for my sugar test on December 8th or 10th- so I will have to be there for about 2 hours- hopefully I am still on a good book by that time!

Speaking of good books I am reading the Twilight series- actually I am on book 4! We went to see the movie the weekend it came out and I was pretty impressed typically I do not like movies made from books but this one was different- mainly because I waited to read the books until after I knew who would be playing the main characters so I really think that helped. Either way good book good movie!

Well here are a few pics from the past few weeks, I was very bad and forgot to pull out the camera for Turkey Days- shame on me. Oh well!

I think that this pose looks like me when I was little
Hanging out with her best buddy Zeke

Again just like her Mommy always reading

And the verdict is....

GIRL!!! We are having another little girl! No names really yet we still need to think about that! We of course would have been happy either way- but hey look at it this way we have a lot of clothes we can reuse! :) They are close enough in age that I hope they become best friends (ok so maybe not when they are young but as adults!!) I think Abbey will enjoy having a little sister! Here are some pics of the cutie pie! Doc said everything looked good and we are still looking at the same due date.

New Stuff!!

Shane's new truck! Its a Yukon Denali XL- its loaded with goodies- leather seats, seat warmers, xm, a dvd player for when Abbey gets to turn her carseat around, captian seats for the 2nd row, and my favorite is driver one and driver two automatic seat positions!! It is pretty darn cool, I enjoy driving our new bus.

Abbey is climbing!
Laid back....

Getting there!

Pigtails! :)

It is still pretty fine

On Halloween!

With Uncle Frank

I have to take one second to go off about a pet peeve of mine...people who procreate when they clearly shouldn't. I went to Kroger today saw a guy driving in with two little girls under the age of 7 and the older one was in the front seat with no seatbelt on so that means that she was also not in a booster seat or what ever she was probably supposed to be in and then the younger one was in the back seat with no seatbelt or booster. Now I realize that "back in the day" no one put their kids in boosters or seatbelts BUT times they are a changin' people!! We also used to use paint with lead in it, studies are done and things are proven for a reason. I just can't stand when adults who know better put childern at risk. I am a stickler for certian things I know and not everyone agrees with my point of view but seriously put a seat belt on your child!! I think that is one of the hardest things about being a parent- doing things the way you want them done and ignoring all of the "comments" from the people who think you are crazy- sorry my daughter did not get food before she was 6 months old or milk before she was 1 go ahead and call me crazy at least I put her in a carseat strapped in! Speaking of that I can't wait until we can turn her around in the carseat and she can watch a dvd in Daddy's truck! :)

Playdate and a surprise for Mommy!

Tonight Abbey had a playdate with Elizabeth (Amos and Heather Fox's little girl) she had lots of fun! Shane also surprised me with a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer- one of the all time best surprises!!! So far I have made: Grandma Stewarts recipe for brownies, pumpkin bread-3 loaves, white bread, dumplings, pizza crust and chocolate chip cookies- now all of that mixing and my old hand mixer would have been smoking and dead but the stand mixer is asking for more!

Abbey and Daddy playing around on pbs.com
they were singing about peanut butter and jam....

here she is

it's just beautiful

Abbey needs to learn the art of sharing!

Lesson Learned

Well I really learned my lesson today...professional picture taking is NO longer a mommy and Abbey job- it requires Daddy too! First of all K-Mart must have cranked on the heat today because by the time we got Abbey in for the first photo I was literally dripping sweat. I thought that with this pregnancy that maybe just maybe I would skip the "hot flash" period. Wrong. It just got worse, and the girl doing the photos was not telling me where to go or what to do so I did not know if I was in the picture in the background or not. Then Abbey did not want to sit, stand, or be on a stool or steps or anything, she wanted to turn around to look at me or give the photographer a hug- she did that about 5 times- which was cute and all but we were there to do a job!! She wanted to play with the styrofoam one they put in the picture with her so we could not get that shot, then she went through 4 chairs and none of them were good enough for Abbey to sit in- then I wrangled her into her costume and we got about 4 shots before she was just ready to go- now mind you I wore clothes that matched Abbeys in hopes of some good Mommy and me shots but there was no way I was getting my picture taken looking like a sweaty pig- I had the wet hairline thing going and everything and my face was blotchy and beet red from wiping my brow every 2 seconds and of course my nose was running- sure could have used Daddy's magic in there! We had a good day once we got home and Grandma and Grandpa Stewart dropped by for a nice visit and brought Abbey her very own Abbey sized pumpkin which she started carrying around. Pretty cute. I went to the dr on Friday and everything checked out really well I have lost a few lbs since the last time so the doc is still pretty happy and the heartbeat was good but hard to follow because the little guy or girl was doing some acrobats in there! I get to find out what we are having in 4 weeks!! Here are some pics of the little princess...

Pumpkin Head

Why does my Mom do this to me?
